Personally I hate them...if you are that close to counting down to something (ie 1 week to court) - you don't need a ticker because you know every heartbeat is a step closer...
If you are counting up...well I think it's just depressing...and I get depressed when I see yours and am reminded of how long you have been trying to get your freaking dossier submitted...
I don't have an opinion on them...this one is cute though...if it depresses you, take it down. If it encourages you and reminds you the end is near, keep it up!
I have a love/hate relationship with them. Most are way too cutesy for me, but I have a plain-vanilla one on my site (but kind of buried). I have one because it gives me the (completely false) feeling that I have some idea when I'll get my referral. Seriously, though, it just helps me keep track of my own wait... and saves me from having to answer the question "how long have you been waiting??"
I like the count up ones better than this kind of ticker. The ones that are just the numbers ticking by. They're not as cutsie. But they can be depressing as well. I do like the one you have up now though. It's not too cutsie.

I'm glad you stopped by! This blog chronicles my experiences living in and adopting from Russia. It was a six-year journey that doubled the size of my family. I adopted my daughter, then age 6, from Moskovskaya Oblast. Now we're back in the USA and no longer posting from Russia.
March 2006: adoption officially begins! blah. blah. blah. March 2008: starting over with "new agency" May 2008: paperwork to US July 2008: paperwork in Russia September 2008: possiblity... November 2008: improbability. December 3, 2008: 1000 days! February 2009: MOE approval! May 2009: "the call" (which was actually an e-mail.) June 2009: trip one July 2009: a visit September 2009: court 1294 days after March 2006:together!

Hmmm...a little too cute for my taste.
I think I'll leave the ticker on the post and then maybe occasionally bump it up...or not...but won't leave it up permanently.
Since I mess up your bloglines all the time with my post-publishing editing, I'll just leave this for now.
I love tickers! :-) And as soon as I have a court date, you'll see a new one on my blog!

not a fan of the ticker.
you asked.

I like the ticker. We measure things by how many sleeps around here, so it hits home.
BTW, I love the toy bin. How practical, cute, and organized. I love organization!

I think it's cute.
BTW - Alright, already. Sigh. I send out photos WITH an email! ;) I'll put you on the list! :)

Not a big fan of the ticker... just a personal thing. The comments seem split. Interesting survey.
I am a love hater of them as well...
Tickers are great!!! I love how you worded that one!
