Last Thursday, one of our teachers met a little six-year-old girl who introduced herself as Alesya. When asked for her patronym, the little girl said it was Petochka.
The teacher commented skeptically that Petochka was an unusual name.
The little girl was quick to reassure her. She said she'd even write it for my friend. She wrote:
Алися П.
П is "P". A period is called a "tochka".
Gotta love it!

hey she was right, sort of. lol
Well, there you have it. Out of the mouths of babes.
So cute.
That is so funny!
That is very cute. Your new place looks good. It's hard to move and settle, isn't it? Hope your neighbors quiet down.
That is so cute.
Gotta love kids, don't ya? I had a student once, named Phoenix. When asked what her whole name was, she would say, "Phoenix Arizona." Arizona was not her last name! :-)
Oops, sorry. Don't mean to spam. That deleted comment was mine.
Priceless.
My name is "Kimberly" and I do not have a middle name. In first grade I put my name on my paper as... first name: Kim, middle name: Berly. (Everyone had a middle name, so I thought that was mine.) I never lived that one down and to this day, my friends from school all call me "Berly."
Kim--one of my youth group girls was named Kimberly Burly. And she went by "Kim".
Kate, that's very cute. Little kids have such innocent thoughts, don't they?
love that! Man, kids are soooo literal.
How adorable is that? You take so many things for granted with children. Anastasia still demands that her "real" name is Nastya and sometimes people call her Anastasia as a nickname.
I love it!
Sooo cute! I didn't get it until I read it :-)
So cute......I love it.
