seriously?

I would like to know exactly when the other living creatures in this house had a meeting without me and decided that 5:30 a.m. was the perfect time to awaken. It obviously was very shortly after Lexi arrived home when I was too jetlagged and adoption-lagged to take notice of the coup taking place in my home.

I've tried to get wake-up time back on the agenda, but cannot get the other parties' agreement. I've offered all sorts of concessions from nighttime kibbling to drastically later bedtimes, but none seem to be appealing enough for the other parties to consider overturning their earlier decision.

I'm fortunate that all of my dachshunds are late sleepers and content to stay in bed or their crate.

This made me laugh. My wake up is 5am, not by choice. Early rising girls, they just don't understand.
Love the pic in the header.

Remember Maddie used to get up so early and we broke her of that.

Keep "picking this battle"! It took almost 5 years but we finally got Teena to sleep past the 5:30 mark. Genea was also an early riser. After about a year of her pre-dawn wailing fits, we put a clock in their room and taped the number 7 right above where the 7 on the digital clock would appear. It took about 3 months of intense training but we got there, at last.
Totally one of those things worth fighting for IMHO!

Today's Jane Austen quote is SO you!

I never had a child who liked to arise early, not as a young one and certainly not as a teen.

They didn't want to let Aidan go home from the hospital because he wouldn't wake for night feedings. I wasn't as bothered by that as I probably should have been. Certainly didn't delay his bulking up at all!

They must be talking to Zachary, as we have the same dilemma here. Let me know if you get a solution to this problem!!

Ahhhhahahahahaha! I think that same meeting happened in our house. What is it with these Russian beauties and the cats? When we were in Wisconsin last weekend (another time zone), SOMEONE who has long beautiful hair decided that 4:45 was time to get up...on a Saturday! If you find a way to keep all the creatures in your home in bed until at least 7 or 8, let me know.

Oh my goodness I still have that problem. Evan has been home 2 1/2 years and gets up around 6-6:30 every day!!! Occasionally he's slept until 7, but very rare. I put a night light in his room where I set timer. To go to sleep the light is a blue moon that slowly over the night is less bright. It turns into a bright yellow sun when the timer says it's time to get up. He's not supposed to get up until after the sun is up, but that isn't working..... If you find something that works, let us know!!! Anne

I have the same problem and nothing I do seems to work either.
Guess that is the life of a Mom!
