A year ago yesterday, I met my amazing daughter, Lexi, for the first time.
It was a year ago today that I knew that she was mine and I was hers.
And now the insistent little voice that belongs to this plucky little girl is calling me to come and join in her bathtime fun. That beats memory lane, hands down.

I'm teary and have goosebumps, just as I was when I saw this video the first time.
A whole year since you met your sweet girl - and look where the two of you are, now. Amazing indeed. :-D
I got all misty-eyed watching your video - again! Just look how far you've come this past year. You both are amazing!
What a year it has been!!
How sweet and touching! I'm loving every entry you write - your story is beautiful and I appreciate you sharing it with us!

Oh that made me cry! To see how sad and hollow she was at first. I had to look at recent pictures and she is a happy and full little girl now!
And to see the elephant again...You may have lost the elephant (if I remember correctly) but the beautiful girl you have now makes all of that pain and frustration a very, very distant memory. Congratulations on having a daughter for a full year. Even if it wasn't legal at this time last year, you were mother and daughter in your hearts!
Someone told me the other day that the days go by slowly but the months go by fast. That's certainly been my experience so far!
Happy anniversary!
What a wonderful year it has been. I, too, got all misty-eyed watching the video and reading 'I knew that she was mine and I was hers'. She is more beautiful than ever, Kate. You are such a fabulous mother to your daughter!!
She sure is, and you sure are!
sniff sniff! I remember all of that a year ago, and I remember thinking that I might never be in your shoes...bringing her home. Now look at us!
wow...as I clear the lump in my throat! What a touching video. Congratulations ~ what a year it's been!!
Continued blessings,
Laura :)
