quick quote

"WHAT?!! They killed all the tsars and then they didn't even want any churches? What's the matter with them?"

one of my second graders today at Church on Spilled Blood after he found out that the communists used that amazing church to store vegetables and theatre sets

It is a pretty amazing place isn't it? It's hard to believe all that history and beautiful mosaic artwork was nearly lost.

I agree, Amen! I am reading "The novel of Russia", called "Russka", written by Edward Rutherfurd. It's one of those novels that has tons of true history in it and it spans 1800 years of Russia's history (A.D. 180 through 1992). Very interesting read - 950 pages so it's keeping me busy for a while.
