Fridays

Lexi loves Fridays...although she doesn't know what Friday is.

To her, it's ICE CREAM DAY! After school on Fridays we stop at one of the little shops near us and buy her an ice cream cone. As she told me on the way home today, "I think I like best ice cream." Her current favorite is maple walnut. (It is good--even I think so and I'm not really an ice cream person.)

So, we hereby invite everyone to grab a scoop and join us.

But we are, sadly, not in Russia where the best ice cream in the world is found.

There are those little trolleys on Nevsky year 'round. But, we (because I am tired and lazy on Friday after school) just dig through the freezer at any one of the local shops. They do have ice cream year 'round. There's a produkti (expensive but does have decent produce sometimes)RIGHT downstairs and a little shop catty-corner from us.

Mmmmmmmmmm...morozhenoe. It's one of the two Russian words DH knew best when we were there. That and kafe. We loved that great ice cream was everywhere. :-)

One of the many things I miss about Russia - the yummy ice cream - abundant & year 'round!

If I had my way,
My girlz and I would meet ya at the corner store and grab and icecream and walk home skipping. I am sure your gal loves to skip as much as mine.

Funny memory, my dad and I went back for trip two, and it was september. Our Russian driver in komsomolsk was trying to tell us frozen/cold/ juice. and we didn't understand..He pulled over and bought all of us ice cream. It was a pretty big, vanilla brick of ice cream. Later the translator told us, he thought it was perfect weather for icecream. Now, when its getting cold I always want Klondike bars!

Funny that you posted this on the same day I had ice cream for the first time in weeks. Bliss.
