begetting

Thank you all *so much* for pausing in your busy days to rejoice with me about my new flat. (Wondering if I can still call it a flat when there are stairs...would be hard to break that habit...)It was so nice to have good news to share with everyone. I am just thrilled about my new home.

Rachael commented that good news begets good news. (I guess that' s like sleep begetting sleep--a concept I wholeheartedly embrace.)

I just had an e-mail from my sw saying that she's already sent everything off to new agency. It should be there by the middle of next week!

We might actually get everything registered before the dreaded summer slowdown...

remember there are no goof-ups with God.

don't "what if" yourself when it comes to wishing you would have switched sooner.

it's all good. it is. it might not (have been/be) easy, but if it's from Him, it's good.

you're only 5'2"? shrimp! my oldest is 5'3"... the littlest in the family. except maybe for A - i wouldn't be surprised if she's going to be a shrimpette!

Thanks for stopping by! Love the new flat - and I totally get you on the lower cabinets, I'm "perfect height", too! :) Here's hoping that the new agency will be just the thing!!

Yay! God is so good! I remember when I hit the year mark of waiting for John's court date (met him, region closed, accred craziness, blah blah. Kept suitcases packed for nearly 9 mos of it before I realized I was all the wrong season) - it is like all good things started happening all at ONCE - kind of like God was saying "ooooookay, close your eyes, 'bout to start dumping those blessings on you..."! So, I definitely subscribe to the begetting theory! The blessing dumping couldn't be happening to a nicer person!

Oh, and I don't want to HEAR IT on the shorty shrimpy thing. I am like nine feet tall and was at a ridiculously early stage in life, but all my stepsisters were 5'0, 5'2 and 5'4. I used to wear gypsy skirts that came to my ankles so I could walk with my knees bent and appear shorter. All I did was appear...um....a bit "special". Like Tim Conway as the little ol man on the Carol Burnett show.

That would definitely be good news, too!

I couldn't help but look again at the front door of your "flat". Wow. I am way amazed. At least I don't recall seeing anything so nice in Moscow - though the courtyard looked JUST the same as the one where our apartment was this summer. The courtyard where way too many cars vied for way too little space and where I would never, ever attempt to drive myself, even if it meant 100% public transport. But - good luck. Maybe the courtyard will be as well regulated as the front door is beautiful!

I have to agree with what others have said! This does seem like such a positive switch and I certainly hope, fingers crossed, that you hear some very excellent news soon!

I love your courtyard too. It reminds me of the apartments we stayed at in St. Petersburg; they must all look similar. I always loved the courtyards; they reminded me of a sepia toned photo, with bare trees and crackly leaves and always a deserted bench (save for the sometimes lonely drunk :)) and varying jumbled entryways and stairs. (We were always there in winter/not quite spring, but never saw snow and the weather was unseasonably pleasant.)

OK, enough nostalgia: YEAH for good news. I told you the begetting thing: it like a law of the universe or something.

I notice your quote at the top of the page (Steve) "There's no 'rush' in Russia." Maybe that is why I like it.

That was my main observation when I finally broke down and visited the McDonalds in Moscow. I had never seen that many workers do so little! It almost seemed as though the entire PURPOSE of McDonalds (speed) was compromised the minute "Russia" came into the equation. Of course the other main purpose of McDonalds (unhealthy, fat-laden food) was also compromised, because they had the most wonderful salad bar. I was so disappointed to see they'd dropped that when I was there in September.... Just a "come-on" to get the Russians in, I guess, then on to getting them to eat empty calories!
