So, if Why This Road is my current state-of-being song
(actually, I'm coming out of that already; sometimes all it takes is a song. Did you know that musical theatre is structured much like Shakespearean plays? Seriously. In Shakespeare's works, you will find characters speaking in prose until the emotion becomes so overwhelming that s/he has to express it differently, it cannot be contained in prose--so s/he speaks in verse. Look at Viola and Olivia's dialogue from Twelfth Night, Act I scene v. When Viola's passion for Orsino overtakes her, she begins to speak in verse. So, too in musicals. When a character has an emotion too big for words, s/he sings! Of course, this is only true of musicals post-Oklahoma!. But that's taking this digression a bit too far, isn't it? Indubitably. <-That was a Mary Poppins reference. It just happens.)
then what is yours? Everyone has a song. In drama school we had to write and sing our self-song. (Of course we did. It was drama school.) I still know mine--and it still fits. I've had lots of songs that sum me up at different times. Haven't we all? I say yes!
So, what's your song?

way too tough a question. i love music so much. one of my favorite songs i put on my blog last night. it just helps me focus on TRUTH. i would have to make a list of my top 100 songs, and i don't have the time or energy for that.
LOL! Since starting our adoption process, it's been "You Are My Sunshine," since that's what we've nicknames our daughter-to-be.
Fun question!
Hmmm...I don't know. I'm going to have to think about this for awhile. I'll blog about it when I figure it out.
On the way to work this a.m. I was listening to "Unwritten" by Natasha Bedingfield (sp?) on the radio, and I was just thinking about how much I love the lyrics of that song. (I was tempted to put it on my blog as a soundtrack, but then decided against it, as (obliously) I've been known on occasion to check my blogs during down-time at work, and I always hate it when I click on a blog and music starts blaring from my screen at me.)
My song is
My Wish....
sums me up to a T

But right now I like Martina McBride - Anyway
oh LORD - that is a crazy-hard question.
So I'm not going to answer it without some thought - but I will say the song that's been in my head for few months while i've been focusing on my adoption is "You're All I Need To Get By" - the Marvin Gaye/Tammi Tyrrell version... infectious.
Just wanted to swing by and say HELLO!! And I can't believe I just found YOU, too. We are clearly birds of feather, and I'll be checking in on you often!
good luck with finding a SW, by the way. what a gigantic pain in the arse.
2 things: we need to hear YOUR favorite 10 songs....
and
have you been able to find another option for the new HS?
hmmm lately I have felt the most emotion at the snow patrol song (although way overplayed)- If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world
I don't quite know
How to say
How I feel
Those three words,
are said too much
they're not enough
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life
Before this song it was Coldplay- We live in a Beautiful World.
