summary of findings

I just walked into school (I'd left my car there on...Friday and needed to go pick it up.) and found:

*****snow flurries!*****

And there's little bits of dry, grainy snow clustered around the trunks of trees and on patches of bare ground. We're supposed to have a cold, clear winter and I cannot wait!

I also found that my car won't start. Again. It's making machine gun noises. Again.

On the way back, I found that they've moved the big trash bins on my street. This usually means that all cars on the street will be towed for some event (rollerblade rally, marathon, parade, dignitary driving past, etc.).

So, my car won't start but at least I know where it is. And winter is coming! My glass is at least 3/4 full!

It's supposed to snow in Perm at the beginning of the week too. I was SO sure I'd be there for the first snowfall... that makes me a little bit sad, but I know I'll be there before long. And HOME for Christmas!

Enjoy the snow!

Yay! I don't get snow here in California where I live, and have to drive for a while to get to it... I've always wished I had snow for the holidays, too.

Enjoy it!

I wonder if this might possibly mean snow for me in Kyrgyzstan when I pick up Little Squirt??!! As a FL girl, I will be like a fish out of water (though I will do my best to prepare!).

Sorry about your car troubles :( That is never fun!!

Snow!?!? I love the first snowfall, but since I'm in GA we don't get much. Of course, after the first snowfall I'm pretty much over it! :-) I hope your car remains in it's place!

Thanks for your blog Kate. It makes me laugh and is so fun! I can relate to the driving, meeting, apartment discomfort...it is good to know we are not alone! :) I am on the Arctic Circle and today it is -13. Not bad for November. We are on break from school this week and I am totally looking forward to it! I will be praying about Friday. As I search the mailbox daily hoping for that I171H, it was thrill me to see someone else, anyone please, move forward in this adoption process! Btw, most kids I have seen do well when some Russian can be spoken to them especially at first, so good job with the effort. It isn't easy!

I had to laugh when you mentioned the moving of the trash bins. I remember last spring's (?) hunt for the car. You're becoming a seasoned pro at living in St. Pete's!
Enjoy the snow!

I am so jealous of the snow. We are having a really warm fall and have had to chilly? days in the high 60's. And again will have low 80's by the end of the week. I am so sick of warm! (hot by Colorado standards) We are heading to C/S for Thanksgiving and hopefully it will be a snowy one. Amy
